A leading infrastructure contractor seeks a Senior Project Manager to oversee critical water and wastewater projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project delivery, a strong background in civil engineering, and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams. This role is essential for ensuring compliance and strategic planning in major infrastructure developments.
Senior Project Manager - Water, Civil Engineering & Infrastructure
Location: Southampton, Hampshire & Surrounding Region
Contract: Ongoing (circa 12 months)
Rate: Circa 550- 650/day (Negotiable)
TRIbuild Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a leading infrastructure contractor delivering critical water and wastewater projects across the South. We're looking to appoint an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead major schemes from tender handover through to final delivery.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for safety, programme, commercial performance, and stakeholder engagement-ideal for a delivery-focused professional with a strong background in civil engineering or utilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all aspects of project delivery across planning, implementation, and close-out
Ensure compliance with BMS, CDM, and H&S standards throughout project lifecycle
Develop and oversee Project Execution Plans, method statements, and resourcing
Build and maintain strong client, partner, and supply chain relationships
Ensure commercial controls are in place, including forecasting and cost management
Lead and support multi-disciplinary teams across design and construction phases
Present progress and governance reviews at senior level
Drive continuous improvement and lessons learned processes
Requirements:
Essential:
Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure or water projects
Degree in construction, engineering, or commercial discipline
APM PMQ or equivalent project management qualification
Strong understanding of NEC (and/or IChemE) contracts
Excellent stakeholder and team leadership skills
Commercially astute with strong planning and delivery track record
Solid understanding of CDM and site health & safety requirements
Desirable:
Chartered status with relevant institution (ICE, CIOB, etc.)
NEC Project Manager Accreditation
Experience on water/wastewater treatment schemes
