Your new role

Oversee and manage the delivery of complex construction projects and programs within the education and commercial buildings portfolios, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard. Provide strategic oversight, mentor junior staff, and ensure the local authority’s strategic objectives are achieved while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and effective governance. Lead the execution of high-value, complex construction projects and programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Manage and line manage 2 project managers.

You will also serve as the primary contact for both external and internal stakeholders, including senior management.

What you'll need to succeed
  • A Degree in Project/Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Professional membership (e.g., RICS, CIOB, APM) or equivalent experience.
  • Professional certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is desirable.
  • Extensive experience managing complex capital projects, ideally within a similar-sized organisation.
  • Strong leadership skills. Experience working within a local authority or public sector organisation is preferred.
