Job summary

A leading project management firm is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Agile Scrum Master to lead security improvement initiatives in London. This role involves managing agile processes and aligning security tasks with enterprise standards. Ideal candidates have extensive experience in project management and Agile practices. This is a 6-month contract position that requires onsite work in Sutton or London two days a week, offering a competitive rate of up to £715 a day.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager and Scrum Master in enterprise environments.
• Experience managing projects that implemented infrastructure as code and secure CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with GitHub Advanced Security and CIS benchmarks.

Job Title: Senior Project Manager / Agile Scrum Master
Location: Sutton or London - 2 days a week (between Tuesday and Thursday)
Salary/Rate: Up to £715 a day Inside IR35
Start Date: August 2025
Job Type: 6-month contract (with scope to extend)

Company Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with Agile Scrum Master expertise to lead cross-functional teams in executing a high-priority security improvement initiative.

This role will drive delivery across multiple workstreams, implementing robust processes to ensure alignment with enterprise security standards, and regulatory compliance.

*The successful candidate must be able to work onsite in the Sutton or London - 2 days a week (between Tuesday and Thursday)*

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

Agile Leadership & Project Management

• Lead agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming
• Manage sprint execution and delivery timelines across multiple squads.
• Facilitate Scrum of Scrums and cross-team coordination to ensure consistent progress and unblock dependencies
• Maintain project schedules, scope, and resource plans, escalating risks and issues as needed.

Security Improvement Initiatives

• Implement improvements to and embed ongoing processes for:
• Hardening of improperly configured endpoints, ensuring compliance with CIS benchmarks
• Monitoring of GitHub Advanced Security alerts
• Hardening internal endpoints using EntraID and enforce SSO integration with SaaS providers per company standards
• Upgrades of end-of-life software and operating systems
• Review remediation processes to ensure alignment to latest practices

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure all security tasks align with internal audit findings and enterprise risk management protocols
• Collaborate with security champions and engineering leads to embed secure development practices.
• Track and report on agile squad productivity using automated scorecards and Kanban views

Required Skills/Experience

• Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager and Scrum Master in enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and DevSecOps principles.
• Experience managing projects that implemented infrastructure as code and secure CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
• Familiarity of enterprise tools eg JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, as well as highly proficient in using MS Office including Excel, Powerpoint and Sharepoint, project management tools

Desirable Certifications

• PMP, CSM, PSM, or equivalent Agile certifications.
• Security-related certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA) are a plus.
• Familiarity with GitHub Advanced Security, EntraID, and CIS benchmarks
