Reporting to: Head of Operations

Salary: £55K - £60K (DOE) + benefits

Role Purpose
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager who can both lead and develop a high-performing project management function and personally deliver complex, customer-facing projects. This hybrid role combines the leadership and strategic responsibilities of managing a project management team with the hands-on accountability of delivering high-quality projects to our clients.
You will be responsible for ensuring all projects are delivered to agreed quality standards, within budget, and on schedule — while also driving process improvements, mentoring project managers, and managing the overall project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Department Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Project Services team, fostering a high-performance, customer-first culture.
  • Define, implement, and maintain core project management methodology, tools, and standards.
  • Manage portfolio planning, resource allocation, and performance monitoring across the project department.
  • Work with senior leadership to develop the Project Services strategy and ensure it aligns with organisational goals.
  • Support bids and proposals with resource planning, estimates, and delivery input.

Customer-Facing Project Delivery
  • Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for customers and internal stakeholders on assigned projects.
  • Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring deliverables meet agreed scope, quality, time, and budget.
  • Produce and maintain essential project documentation (PID, schedules, cost trackers, risk logs, change control records).
  • Apply strong scope management and change control to prevent scope creep.
  • Lead customer meetings, presentations, and service/project reviews.
  • Ensure accurate, timely invoicing and financial reporting for assigned projects.
Governance & Process Improvement
  • Ensure project governance is followed, with regular status reporting to customers and internal boards.
  • Identify and drive improvements to project processes, systems, and reporting tools.
  • Proactively manage project risks and escalations, ensuring resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyse progress and cost reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
Skills & Experience Required
  • 5+ years proven experience in leading a project function and delivering complex IT infrastructure or service transition projects.
  • Strong track record in customer-facing project management, with budgets up to £1M+.
  • Experienced in managing multi-site, offshore, and distributed teams.
  • Prince2 Practitioner, PMI, or equivalent certification (ITIL Foundation desirable).
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
  • Commercial acumen with strong financial and resource management skills.
  • Experienced in IT outsourcing, hardware deployment, service transitions, and technical project delivery.
  • Skilled in MS Project, O365, and project management tools.
