Job Description:

A challenging and unusual opportunity to apply proven Project Management skills – with and engage with cross functional projects.

Agility Working: This full-time role is based in the UK and reports to the Projects Director. Your work location will be linked to our Headquarters Offices, but you will be able to work within the company’s “Agility Framework and Hybrid Work Policy”. This Policy is coordinated so that the day-to-day work base in the UK can be adaptable. The company has successfully implemented “TEAMS” as our virtual meeting platform. Attending the offices may be required for essential client meetings etc.

Fenix has been consistently productive with an agile approach to work location whilst still meeting delivery deadlines. An “Agility Framework” will be agreed with each team member and is subject to risk assessment. With reasonable notice, attending site meetings will always be subject to appropriate Health & Safety guidelines. Note: You must be living and authorized to work in the UK to apply for this position.

As Senior Project Manager, your primary role will be to manage the day-to-day operations of key infrastructure projects and demonstrate proven experience in:

  • Scope and schedule management
  • Risk and issue management
  • Finance and cost control management
  • Resource and people management
  • Benefits management
  • Commercial and contract management

You should also have experience facilitating workshops and meetings, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, passion, resilience, and tenacity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders at all levels to define and understand project scope.
  • Developing thorough, cross-functional project schedules, involving stakeholders to create valid plans, discussing risk areas, and conveying impacts of schedule or scope changes.
  • Managing and developing client relationships continually.
  • Planning projects in detail to ensure integration of activities, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Preparing comprehensive budgets reflecting plans and resource needs.
  • Identifying non-people resources (tools, equipment, logistics) to maintain accurate, affordable budgets.
  • Ensuring all resources are identified and justified, especially when constraints arise.
  • Communicating roles and responsibilities clearly, escalating issues as needed.
  • Directing and motivating project teams, maintaining effective communication throughout.
  • Managing third-party suppliers effectively.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Significant experience in the Rail industry with a track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Membership of The Association for Project Management or relevant professional body, or demonstrable experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to develop client relationships.
  • Experience managing Signalling discipline projects is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of industry roles, purposes, and activities.
  • Understanding of Construction Industry Contracts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High IT literacy, proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, ProjectWise, and MS Project.
