Fortem is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead retrofit and capital works social housing refurbishment projects in the Yorkshire region, including Sheffield and surrounding areas. The role requires coordinating multiple projects for a large social housing provider and ensuring delivery to contract requirements.

You will oversee site teams, manage resources and supply chains, and maintain H&S compliance, with a focus on quality, client communication, and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable construction project management experience across retrofit or capital works programmes.
• Ability to read programmes, drawings, schedules and specifications.
• Commercial awareness with ability to challenge and drive deadlines.

Due to our continued success here at Fortem, we are delighted to confirm that we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team. Based in Sheffield tis role involves working with a large social housing provider on retrofit projects in the Yorkshire regions (inclucing, Sheffield, Scarborough nd Liverpool).

The overall objective of the Senior Project Manager will be to organise and manage the delivery of multiple projects in-line with the contract requirement.

This will be working Retrofit / Capital Works social housing refurbishment programmes across the Yorkshire region.

The Customer

This will be working within our Northern Projects division in partnership with Sanctuary Yorkshire housing.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Manage and monitorthe safe and effective delivery of Capital Works and Retrofit social housing refurbishment prgrammes.
• Lead and motivate an operational team (Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers and CLO's).
• Organise and review works schedules, including resources, materials and supply chain requirements
• Comply with Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
• Establish standards of quality on site and ensure delivery of a build in accordance with the specification and project requirements
• Follow procedures to mitigate risks of complaints when working in or around occupied premises.
• Communicate effectively with clients, project team and contractors.
• Engage and develop excellent relationships with supply chain, client representatives and consultants.
• Plan cost effective use of resources and forecast resource requirements in line with budget and projected works
• Ensure resources are adequate and competency of the team for the works involved
• Securing strong relationships with the client to ensure the potential for follow on works
• Monitor work to agreed preliminaries budget.
• Identify risk and put in place appropriate contingency planning

What You Will Need

• Demonstrable Construction Project Management ideally SHF/energy efficient works and Retrofit/Capital Works programmes.
• Ability to read interpret and understand programmes, drawings, schedules and specifications
• Proven ability to work to and develop operating procedures.
• Comfortable producing progress updates for the client in preparation for client meetings & internal reviews.
• To be commercially aware, comfortable working alongside the commercial team, confident in challenging others and ensuring programme deadlines are achieved.
• Full working knowledge of H&S and Environmental legislation including but not restricted to the CDM regulations
• A valid CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme certificate
• Minimum level 4 qualification (NVQ4 or HNC)
• Role Appropriate CSCS card
• First Aid at work certificate
• Valid driver's license
• Experience of working on Retrofit projects
• Experience of working for a social housing clients a Tier 1 contractor
• Experience of overseeing multiple projects with a number of Site, assistant site managers, CLO's reporting to you.
