Job summary

QinetiQ Group plc in Sevenoaks is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex, high-value projects across defence domains. You will work within the Weapons Services Delivery Team, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and managing stakeholders to ensure cost, schedule, and quality objectives are met.

Hybrid working pattern—3 days onsite per week at Shoeburyness or Fort Halstead—and eligibility for SC clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of delivering projects, programmes or portfolios.

• APM/Prince2 qualification is desirable.

The Role

QinetiQ provides the MOD with Test & Evaluation and Training capabilities in the UK. QinetiQ undertakes specification, design, procurement, development, integration and acceptance of the Test & Evaluation and Training Systems across the Maritime, Land, and Air domains. An opportunity exists to join the Weapons Services Delivery Team, supporting a number of programmes from cradle to grave.

You will be responsible for several Projects and tasked with ensuring our commitments to our internal and external stakeholders are met. Our projects have a diverse and complex stakeholder community, both internal and external to the company.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead the successful delivery of complex and strategically important projects, ensuring performance against cost, schedule, quality and customer objectives
• Contribute to a high-performing, integrated project team, supporting a collaborative and delivery-focused culture
• Manage and influence senior stakeholders, developing trusted customer relationships and resolving complex issues
• Develop and support customer proposals, business cases and growth opportunities that contribute to business objectives
• Drive follow-on sales and identify opportunities to expand customer engagement and revenue
• Provide clear, accurate and timely project reporting, governance and assurance to customers and senior leadership

Essential experience of the Senior Project Manager :

Experience gained, typically rather than necessarily, between 2-5 years of leading a business, projects, programmes, portfolios or P3 function and successfully delivering projects

Desirable qualifications for the Senior Project Manager :

• APM/Prince2 qualified

This role is 37 hours per week and is based out of our Shoeburyness or Fort Halstead facilities on a hybrid working pattern of 3 days per week on average, onsite.

Shoeburyness

QinetiQ Shoeburyness is a significant test and evaluation facility specialising in defence and security technologies. The site is focused on Environmental Testing including the evaluation of various ordnance, explosives and related systems. Implementing measures to ensure that testing activities comply with environmental regulations and minimise ecological impact.

Fort Halstead

Our facilities at Fort Halstead, located in Kent, focus on a wide range of defence-related research, particularly weapons systems and military technology. Modern laboratories enable engineers and scientists to conduct high-tech research in material science, systems engineering, and advanced simulation techniques.
