Job summary

QinetiQ Limited seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead complex programmes across Shoeburyness or Fort Halstead, delivering on cost, schedule and quality targets. The role supports a hybrid pattern with three onsite days per week and 37 hours of work.

You will manage multi-stakeholder environments, develop proposals and ensure governance and reporting to senior leadership while driving customer value and growth opportunities.

The Role

QinetiQ provides the MOD with Test & Evaluation and Training capabilities in the UK. QinetiQ undertakes specification, design, procurement, development, integration and acceptance of the Test & Evaluation and Training Systems across the Maritime, Land, and Air domains. An opportunity exists to join the Weapons Services Delivery Team, supporting a number of programmes from cradle to grave.

You will be responsible for several Projects and tasked with ensuring our commitments to our internal and external stakeholders are met. Our projects have a diverse and complex stakeholder community, both internal and external to the company.

Your responsibilities will include:

Essential experience of the Senior Project Manager :

• Experience gained, typically rather than necessarily, between 2-5 years of leading a business, projects, programmes, portfolios or P3 function and successfully delivering projects

Shoeburyness

QinetiQ Shoeburyness is a significant test and evaluation facility specialising in defence and security technologies. The site is focused on Environmental Testing including the evaluation of various ordnance, explosives and related systems. Implementing measures to ensure that testing activities comply with environmental regulations and minimise ecological impact.

Fort Halstead

Our facilities at Fort Halstead, located in Kent, focus on a wide range of defence‑related research, particularly weapons systems and military technology. Modern laboratories enable engineers and scientists to conduct high‑tech research in material science, systems engineering, and advanced simulation techniques.
