As a Senior Project Manager
Your role encompasses several critical tasks. You are entrusted with delivering significant technology and business change initiatives that propel Thames’ progress toward achieving business area goals and desired outcomes.
What you’ll be doing as a Senior Project Manager
- Lead & coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects - ensure they deliver to agreed time, cost, quality and outcomes. Utilising effective statements of work as required (SOWs).
- Work semi-independently, confident in your knowledge and skills, with support from the Programme manager/senior project manager.
- Define, baseline, and maintain the project’s scope, plan, resources & budget to successfully deliver the business outcomes/objectives – ensuring project alignment with organisational goals.
- Communicate clearly in writing and verbally with stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and maintain awareness of business needs and priorities.
- Produce regular project status reports and tailor updates based on stakeholder needs/levels.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks effectively, utilising project governance to provide visibility and escalate as appropriate.
- Create and maintain project cost models covering actual, accrual, and forecast – challenging costs to drive value.
Base location – Hybrid – Clearwater Court, Reading
Working pattern – Monday to Friday, 36 hours
What you should bring to the role
Essential
- Experience with different delivery methodologies, i.e., Agile, Waterfall.
- Extensive experience in IT project management.
- Delivery of IT projects involving third-party suppliers.
- Ability to lead both internal teams and third-party collaborators.
Desirable
- Development and management of third-party suppliers.
- Agile Project Management and/or Scrum.
- Prince 2 or equivalent qualification.
