The Opportunity

The Senior Project Manager will lead the successful delivery of complex internal and customer-facing projects, leveraging internal and external Technology & Information Services teams. They will collaborate closely with Product Management and Business Analysts to shape business requirements and ensure alignment with project goals.

Projects may involve developing new applications or enhancing existing products, followed by rollout to internal and external users. Depending on the project, Agile or Iterative Waterfall methodologies will be applied. Strong engagement with stakeholders is essential throughout delivery.

The Project Manager will also support high-level business analysis, produce documentation for customer sign-off, and, where needed, create functional designs to guide the project team.

The role will involve:

  • Deliver projects/programmes on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Manage project teams through all phases: requirements, design, build, test, and deployment.
  • Apply and refine project management practices, including planning, reporting, risk and issue management, and communication.
  • Set and manage realistic timelines and scope with sponsors.
  • Collaborate across departments and with external partners to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Support client account management and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Lead negotiations with external clients and suppliers as needed.
  • Motivate and guide teams, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Oversee task distribution and encourage cross-functional collaboration.
  • Secure milestone approvals from sponsors and clients.
  • Line manage Junior Project Managers, providing feedback and coaching.
  • Maintain project reporting and metrics in line with PMO governance.

About You

You’ll bring a strong background in project management, with hands-on experience in software development and proven expertise in PRINCE2 and Agile methodologies.

You will also have:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience or the ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of revenue management
  • Coaching and mentoring capabilities
  • Confidence in presenting to senior leadership (e.g., Quarterly Reviews, OpCos)
  • Experience managing escalations effectively
  • A proactive approach to developing leadership, negotiation, and project management skills
