About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Manager to join a booming consultancy in Milton Keynes. This role offers the chance to lead and manage a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring successful delivery in line with client expectations. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with a strong background in project management, contract administration, and stakeholder engagement.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of end-to-end project delivery, overseeing budgets, schedules, risks, and resources while ensuring compliance with industry best practices and relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects across multiple sectors.
- Managing project lifecycles from feasibility through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Developing and implementing project strategies, programmes, and financial controls.
- Providing contract administration and commercial oversight, working with JCT, NEC3/4, and FIDIC contracts.
- Managing stakeholder relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and external partners.
- Identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks, ensuring effective problem resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
- Preparing and delivering progress reports, financial updates, and risk assessments to senior management and clients.
- Leading and mentoring junior project managers and assistant project managers, ensuring team development and high-performance standards.
- Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, health and safety standards, and sustainability objectives.
- Supporting business development by contributing to bids, proposals, and client presentations.
Requirements
- Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in project management within a consultancy or client-side environment.
- Extensive experience in contract administration (NEC3/4, JCT, or FIDIC).
- Strong leadership, team management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring successful delivery within budget and timelines.
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and risk management capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of project controls, cost management, and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, Asta Powerproject, or other project management software.
- Chartered status or working towards APM, CIOB, or RICS membership is desirable.
- Full UK driving licence is required.
