Overview

Main Purpose of Role: The Project Manager is responsible for overall project execution and management of delivery teams (internal and external) for defined projects. Responsible for managing all aspects of individual projects, including subcontracts, coordinating resources and technical support, managing supply chain issues, compiling a target-cost programme and presenting a monthly review to the Management Team. With an overall brief to ensure on time delivery, in a safe manager and within defined budgets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • To perform all duties in line with the Company's HSQE Policies and Procedures
  • Demonstrate proactive, effective, individual, and collective SHE leadership and promote enthusiastic SHE culture.
  • Manage safety through early development incorporating life cycle designs that minimise risk to personnel.
  • Lead the team, including specialist subcontractors, through all stages of the project through to successful completion.
  • Manage the team and site activities to ensure that projects meet the key programme milestones and the requirements of the employer deliverables.
  • Responsible for approving the scope of works, the plan and the target cost for each element of the project the PM is assigned to.
  • Providing clear leadership to the Project Team and controlling activities of the Team against budget
  • Optimise the resource plan in conjunction with key stakeholders.
  • Drive performance, actively seeking to improve and optimise delivery methods.
  • Provide a professional and consistent approach for the management and execution of major projects.
  • Develop effective working relationships with supply chain representatives and commercial team to ensure projects are cost effective and efficient.
  • Ensure buildable solutions are approved and handed over to the civil construction teams in line with programme expectations.
  • Carry out site and factory inspections as appropriate and agree benchmarks on quality.
  • Manage witnessing and inspections during the commissioning phase of the works.
  • Conduct and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Produce regular reports to senior management to include financial data, KPIs and a summary of progress with business objectives.
  • Ensure a positive customer experience through the delivery of excellent customer service and delivery of projects on time and within budget.
Job Context / Key Challenges

Working within a busy project team with conflicting priorities whilst providing outstanding customer service to internal and external stakeholders. The postholder reports directly to the Operations Director. The Project Manager ensures safe management and systems of work are deployed by all personnel involved on the project. Accountable for establishing effective controls of site construction activities. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet customer requirements.

Dimensions

Responsible for the Health and Safety of ESM colleagues and contractors on site. Financial responsibility for projects.

Qualifications and Experience
  • HNC or HND in relevant engineering discipline.
  • Ideally experienced to SAP 11kV/33kV
  • Experienced in the delivery of working in an ICP connections environment ranging from 33kV/132kV.
  • Excellent communication skills with good understanding of commercial and contractual aspects of typical industry forms of contract.
  • Min 3 years Electrical experience within project management on 11kV/33kV Networks
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Good written, verbal and presentation skills
