There is a growing business for battery storage as we deliver clean renewable energy to customers. We are looking for a Senior Project Manager with strong electrical background to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking clients projects from the initial idea or specification stage, through to Detailed Design, Build, Acceptance Testing, and installation and on to commissioning.

The Senior Project Manager may work on a variety of client projects at any one time depending on the size and scope of the work. The role will provide strong leadership in a matrix environment to promote best practices in managing interrelated projects and programmes to ensure successful delivery. Initial role will be as Senior Project Manager for the largest BESS project in the North England, UK.

Skills Required

• Overall responsibility for the delivery of largest BESS project in the North England, UK.
• Green energy including large scale ground mounted solar experience
• Extremely strong project or programme management and excellent organisational skills are fundamental, as is the ability to consult with people at all levels of the organisation.
• The skills preferred for this classification are leadership, risk management, negotiation, time management, detailed oriented and budgeting.
• Ensure project scope, goals and deliverables are budgeted, and planned to meet the objectives of the clients' "Project Brief".
• Define project tasks and resource requirements; develop full scale project plans.
• Assemble and coordinate project resources and manage the entire project budget.
• Plan and schedule project timelines; tracking project deliverables using appropriate tools.
• Compliance with Health and Safety Regulations and Quality assurance
• Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
• Continually review new and existing technical developments to ensure sustainability for client's developments.
• Manage Project Engineers and Contractor's activities in line project requirements and company procedures.
• Coach and support the operational side of engineering prior, during and after project implementation.
• Ensure projects meet the requirements not only of the Client but also any relevant regulative bodies.
• Project Development - Support bid development teams to review, approve relevant Project, Construction and Programme sections of proposals. Attend bidder’s day, bid presentation meetings as required and assist in the preparation of presentation materials.
• Review and approve capital budgets, the preparation of capital budgets depending on the size and complexity of the project.
• People are important to our business and therefore the ability to interface with other disciplines within the engineering design office and project delivery teams is a vital skill that we look for in all members of our team.

Specific responsibilities:

• Be overall responsible for the planning, development, procurement, and implementation of a variety of projects including infrastructure, battery installations and industrial size utilities and have a strong background as an electrical engineer.
• As Senior Project Manager you will be responsible initially leading and managing all aspects of the project not just electrical, but civil, mechanical and controls.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure the successful execution of projects within budget, on schedule, and in adherence to quality standards.
• Preferred but not essential to have experience with ICP works up to 275/133kV, with 11-33kVessential .
• Senior level Project Management experience, having worked on multimillion projects.
• Recognised formal project management qualification is desirable.
• Minimum 2:1 engineering degree preferably in chemical, mechanical, building, or electrical. Services; achieved Chartered Engineer status.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Project Management and Implementation function particularly covering energy centres and associated utilities.
• Ability to monitor and report on project budgets across the portfolio.
• Advanced IT skills in relation to Word, PowerPoint and Excel and MS Project tools
• Mentoring and coaching the project teams to implement the Project Delivery Approach
• Thought leader with a view to creating a viable Project Implementation service and supporting pragmatic delivery of projects.

They should be able to demonstrate good organisational skills including the ability to multi-task, prioritise work under pressure and complete within deadlines.
