Job Purpose:

To establish, coordinate, and manage the necessary resources to ensure high-end fit-out projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction. The Senior Project Manager will lead the project team, maintain strong client relationships, and uphold the highest standards of quality, safety, and professionalism throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution

  • Develop comprehensive project plans and ensure all necessary resources are in place to meet deadlines.
  • Monitor progress and take proactive steps to ensure timely completion, including administering delays in line with contract and producing timeslice reports.
  • Establish and manage project budgets, ensuring delivery within financial targets.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all work meets client specifications and quality standards, including implementation of the Control Quality Plan and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Maintain up-to-date site information, risk assessments and ensure all personnel adhere to the project plan and safety procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Resource & Team Management

  • Effectively manage all project resources including staff, labour, plant, materials, subcontractors, and internal departments (e.g., design and factory teams).
  • Embed a culture of high performance within your team
  • Set clear targets and reporting procedures, and measure team and stakeholder performance against these standards.
  • Mentor and support junior team members to foster a high-performance culture.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary liaison with clients and their representatives, providing regular updates and resolving issues promptly.
  • Proactively develop and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.

Commercial & Contractual Oversight

  • Monitor financial performance using the Cost Value Report and take steps to minimise costs and maximise value.
  • Ensure contractual conditions are adhered to and maintain accurate, contemporary records to protect the company's position.
  • Participate in value engineering exercises to enhance project profitability.

Operational Excellence

  • Implement and uphold company Operations and Safety Management Procedures on all projects. Demonstrate a high standard of safety at all times throughout the project.
  • Set up and maintain robust site administration systems to ensure accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Support bid and tender processes as required.

Additional Duties

  • Undertake any other responsibilities within your knowledge, experience, or competency as requested by senior management.

Essential Criteria

  • Extensive project management experience on new build and fit-out type projects.
  • Third level qualification in a related subject or experience in a similar Project Management role.
  • The right behaviours to promote focused & harmonious working relationships through all project stakeholders.
  • Principal contractor experience with CDM.
    • Excellent leadership, organisational, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and organise workload to meet project milestones.
  • Sound commercial acumen, cost awareness and IT skills.
  • Ability to build and promote successful customer relationships.
  • Management skills to motivate a multidisciplinary team to deliver to the project specification.
  • Willingness to travel; overnight stays throughout the UK will be required.

Preferred Criteria

  • Trades background with extensive management experience.
  • CSCS/CSR Managers card (or equivalent).
