As a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee the deployment of mid to large client deployments - this includes multiple work streams such as change management, technical deployment, and daily project management activities for Google Workspace and affiliated partner products. In addition, you may be assigned Google Cloud Platform (GCP) projects as needed.
The ideal candidate will be communicative, enthusiastic, and eager to take on responsibility and learn new skills. Responsibilities:
During Deployments
- Oversee the deployment of multiple mid to large client deployments at a time - this includes concurrent work streams such as change management, technical deployment, and daily project management activities, for Google Workspace and affiliated partners products
- Provide regular reporting on progress to clients throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure that projects are delivered according to scope, budget, and schedule
- Maintain and monitor deployment critical path and communicate issues and risks impacting it internally and externally
- Maintain the issues, risks, decisions, and change logs as well as drive the resolution for all risks and issues
- Be a sounding board and advisor to clients on best practices and managing continuous stakeholder relationships, especially as it relates to follow-on work (FOW)
- Lead the baseline estimation effort and ETCs with the Engineers and Change Managers based on scoped work
- Utilize project management applications to build out project timelines, make assignments, track projects, and use them to appropriately demonstrate project control with clients
- Build documentation around processes and procedures for clients as needed Internally
Internally
- Report into the PMO for status, issues, risks, decisions, and change requests
- Manage financial health status and billing details for assigned projects
- Track FOW opportunities
- Work with sales team members at the start of the project to better understand project requirements and clarify conceptual needs for migrations and executions as needed.
- Bring best practices methodologies to the PMO and help implement them
- Contribute to departmental goals, initiatives, and community of practice
- Promote and project our commitment as a customer-focused organization

Expectations
Required Travel - Up to 20-30% travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events.
Customer-Facing - You will interact with customers on a regular basis, sometimes daily, and other times weekly or bi-weekly. Common touch points occur when qualifying potential opportunities, at project kickoff, throughout the engagement as progress is communicated, and at project close. You can expect to interact with a range of customer stakeholders, including Engineers, technical project managers, and executives.
Onboarding/Training - The first several weeks of onboarding are dedicated to learning and will encompass learning materials/assignments and compliance training, as well as meetings with relevant team members. Details of the timeline are shared closer to the start date.
Job Requirements
Required Credentials:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of industry experience managing IT deployment projects and managing Engineers and Change Management teams
- 3+ years Google Workspace implementation experience
- Strong Google Workspace functional knowledge
- Previous experience working in project management or a project lead role within the professional services industry
- 2+ years of coaching and advising project team members on Google Workspace implementations
- Experience working and coordinating with a Change Management team
- Experience managing project activities/teams and application of structured implementation project methodologies and tools
- Must possess deep knowledge of working within a PMO structure
- Good communication skills capable of maintaining strong relationships
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Team management and leadership skills
- Documentation management
- Attention to detail even under pressure
- Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Experience working with scheduling and/or work management tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, or MS Project
Recommended Qualifications:
- Google Workspace certification(s)
- Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- PMP or other PM-related certification
- Agile experience or Scrum Certification
- Previous experience in professional services or consulting industry
