Job summary

Octagon Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Hereford to lead RF and electronics projects from bid stage through delivery. You will oversee a mix of engineering and manufacturing projects, some short, some up to 18 months, with a focus on RF/electronic systems and equipment.

You’ll manage baselines, critical paths, budgets and stage gates, while coordinating across Engineering, Production, Operations, Sales, customers and suppliers.BPSS eligibility and PM method experience are required,

Qualifications

• 5+ years delivering complex engineering or manufacturing projects from concept through to product.
• Technical understanding of RF and electronic systems, including hardware-software interaction.
• Experience with structured project management methods and costing bids; PRINCE2 or APM welcomed; training supported.

Responsibilities

• Lead several projects at once (R&D, NPI and manufacturing) to stay on time and on budget.
• Turn engineering requirements into clear plans with baselines, critical paths and stage gates.
• Own project finances, forecasting, scope and risk control.
• Lead bids, including costing them and coordinating the teams that build them.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Operations, Sales, customers and suppliers to agree priorities.

Want to lead RF and electronics projects from the bid stage right through to delivery?

A growing RF and electronics engineering company in [City, Region] is hiring a Senior Project Manager to join its Projects Team. You'll lead a mix of engineering and manufacturing projects, some lasting a week and some running for up to 18 months, and many of them involve custom RF, electronic or engineered equipment.

This role suits an experienced Project Manager or Programme Manager from an engineering or manufacturing background who likes being hands-on. You'll keep the big picture in view while also handling the detail, the risk and the budget.

What you’ll do as a Senior Project Manager

• Lead several projects at once (R&D, NPI and manufacturing), keeping each one on time, on budget and to quality
• Turn engineering requirements into clear plans, with baselines, critical paths and stage gates
• Own project finances, forecasting, and scope and risk control
• Lead bids, including costing them and coordinating the teams that build them
• Work closely with Engineering, Production, Operations, Sales, customers and suppliers, and agree priorities between them

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years delivering complex engineering or manufacturing projects, from concept through to product
• A technical understanding of RF and electronic systems, including how the hardware and software sides interact
• Experience with structured project management methods and costing bids. PRINCE2 or APM is welcome, and training is supported if you don't have it yet
• Eligibility for BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard)
