Job Title: Senior Project Manager - Fleet Programmes
Location: Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute

The role
As a Fleet Programmes Senior Project Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This role is critical in leading multi-discipline teams that support the Royal Navy to deliver maintenance projects on the U.K submarines.

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for the management of the project(s) and must be competent in managing key aspects of a project i.e. safety, scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality and resources to achieve a project's agreed objectives. This scope of time, budget and requirement will be set by our customer via a contract to deliver Submarine delivery. You will also:

  • Manage projects in complex situations, with independence and lead others.
  • Lead on Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality within the project.
  • Development of Project Documentations, including but not limited to, project plans, schedules, risk and assumptions registers, technical specifications in accordance with published processes.
  • Deliver the project to the baseline performance, time, and cost envelope in line with project and business success criteria.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at HMNB Clyde Faslane.

Essential experience of the Senior Project Manager

  • Significant experience of the UK Submarine Enterprise. They should hold a formal Project Management Qualification such as Association of Project Management (APM) RPP or PMQ.
  • Detailed knowledge of competence in complex situations and can critically evaluate and adapt as required. You would be proficient in the below competencies:
    • Life cycles
    • Governance Arrangements
    • Financial Management

Qualifications for the Senior Project Manager

  • Degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent
  • APM Project Management Qualification
  • Institute of Leadership and Management Level 5
  • Managing Risk in Primavera Risk Analysis
  • Occasional Climber/Working at Heights

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
