Job description

Enable Infrastructure are looking for a talented Senior Project Manager to join our team on a venture in Scotland. This is an exciting time to join the business during a time of transition into new markets including power, battery storage, drainage and water sector led schemes in addition to our current rail offering.

We have an excellent opportunity for someone from a power/energy connections background to join and be part of our growing business in the region. The projects will cover the Highlands of Scotland, with a base in Glasgow delivering substation upgrades and enhancements to the power network.

We require an experienced local Project Manager who can be client facing, has a passion for delivery and the ability to build new pipelines of opportunity by conversing with the existing clients and new clients in the region.

The role will be contract initially with a view to taking this to a permanent opportunity as workload grows in the region.

Being part of an SME will enable you to gain full exposure to how a construction business operates interfacing with our pre-construction, procurement, delivery, resourcing, hire and other departments. Training development is bespoke tailoring it to your development plan.

The Enable Infrastructure Delivery Team proudly delivers infrastructure solutions going above and beyond for our customer and leaving lasting legacy within the community.

The role is to take the lead and responsibility for planning and managing all aspects of the delivery of a portfolio of projects. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of projects within defined financial targets; and must have developed the appropriate communication skills with a sound ability to negotiate internally and externally in client and stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop a plan for the region to achieve sustainable revenue growth and meet minimum gross margin targets.
  2. Provide oversight and guidance to project delivery teams, ensuring adherence to timelines, Project Controls, budgets, and quality standards.
  3. Take responsibility for full Profit and Loss of their projects, ensuring forecasts are produced to support business planning.
  4. Provide support to Work Winning Team for tenders.
  5. Ensure robust budget builds are completed and implemented throughout the project lifecycle.
  6. Responsible for cost control of project delivery.
  7. Review monthly budget builds with Project Managers and reconcile against current resource and material levels.
  8. Proactively explore cost-saving measures and operational efficiencies to enhance the financial sustainability of their projects.
Experience

  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience within Project Management
  • Proven people management experience
  • Experience in the power/energy connections field
  • Experience of delivery on substation enhancements/upgrades
  • Ability to converse with the client and develop further opportunities in the region.
Qualifications

  • University Degree or similar
  • Civil Engineer (not essential)
  • APM qualification.
  • CSCS
  • Leadership Programme.
Technical Skills

  • Temporary Works appreciation.
  • Managers Environmental Awareness.
  • NEC and NR Suite Contract awareness training.
  • A proven understanding of all H&S regulations, policies, standards, and legislation knowledge within the industry.
  • Understanding of Primavera P6 basic level.
  • Advanced MS Office skills training / experience.
