Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering major civil engineering or infrastructure projects within highly regulated environments.
• Chartered status (or working towards it) and leadership of multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate project teams to deliver outstanding results and drive a culture of excellence.
• Champion Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and promoting a strong safety-first culture.
• Manage key stakeholder relationships to achieve successful project outcomes and business objectives.
• Oversee the full project lifecycle, managing scope, cost, schedule, quality, and risk from inception through to handover.
• Lead procurement activities and NEC4 contract delivery in line with MOD policies and governance requirements.
• Ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets, timelines, and performance targets.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement through regular feedback and effective contract management.
• Deliver accurate project, commercial, and performance reporting while meeting assurance and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to business growth and operational excellence by leading continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.

Job Description

This role is for a Senior Project Manager will deliver four Ammunition Processing Buildings (APBs) which is a key leadership role and will be responsible for leading the delivery of complex civil engineering and infrastructure under NEC4 forms of contract. The role requires an experienced project leader from a civil engineering/construction background, capable of managing projects through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover in a highly regulated environment.

This role will suit a senior delivery professional with strong experience in heavy civils, structural or infrastructure works, and a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage contractors and consultants, and drive safe, timely and cost-effective delivery against demanding programme objectives.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience delivering major civil engineering or infrastructure projects within highly regulated environments.
• Strong track record of managing projects across the full lifecycle, from design and procurement through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Sound knowledge of NEC4 contracts, commercial management, change control, risk, and project governance.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing contractors and consultants to achieve successful project delivery.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels.
• Chartered status (or working towards it) and a commitment to professional development.
• Experience using CEMAR or similar contract management systems.
• A confident project leader with experience delivering complex infrastructure programmes.
• A collaborative team player who can coordinate contractors, designers, commercial teams, and project controls specialists.
• A strong communicator who builds effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners.
• Comfortable making key decisions, managing risk, and overcoming challenges to keep projects on track
