Senior Project Manager - Client-Side / Consultancy Experience - Exeter

Ward Williams are seeking a talented Project Manager to join their Exeter team. The role focuses on client delivery within a construction consultancy environment, offering opportunities for progression and exposure to high-profile projects across multiple sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Own projects end-to-end, bringing expertise to drive outstanding results.
  • Lead on projects with a solid understanding of construction methodologies, design coordination, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Manage budgets, cost control, value engineering, and profitability while delivering quality.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; resolve issues to protect timelines and budgets.
  • Manage various contract forms (e.g., NEC, JCT) to ensure commercial success.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Manage complex timelines and milestones; familiarity with Asta PowerProject and/or MS Project is advantageous.
  • Ensure regulatory standards, health & safety requirements, and internal quality benchmarks are met.
  • Lead through change in scope, schedule, or resources while maintaining team focus and morale.
  • Report progress and strategies clearly to leadership and clients.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years PQE of experience in consultancy construction project management.
  • Self-motivated with ability to set project direction aligned with business goals; capable of inspiring teams and driving performance across multiple projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Experience with budgeting, procurement, contract administration, and delivering best value while maintaining quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate risks and manage timelines.
  • Experience with Asta PowerProject and/or MS Project is advantageous.
  • Ability to report progress and challenges to leadership and clients with clarity.
