A major healthcare organization in Wales is seeking a Transformation Support Officer to collaborate within the transformation team, manage outpatient plans, and contribute to service improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate brings NHS managerial experience, leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. This position will involve regular travel across hospital sites and engaging with various stakeholders in the healthcare community.
The post holder will work within the transformation team and report to the Transformation Lead - Planned Care. There is extensive collaboration with all staff disciplines across the 4 hospital sites; therefore, regular travel across these sites is required to support clinical teams, services, and administration.
Key responsibilities include supporting the Transformation Lead in managing the First Outpatient plan, liaising with the National provider and workforce, coordinating with procurement and finance, and ensuring quality, safety, and governance. The role also involves actively participating in service development and improvement activities. The First Outpatient plan is part of a national programme aimed at reducing the waiting list size in Wales, focusing on first outpatient appointments.
Candidate requirements include recent exposure to management or leadership development programmes and proven NHS managerial experience. Project management experience is desirable. The ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and collaborate with senior managerial and clinical staff is essential. The post holder should demonstrate leadership skills and develop effective relationships with clinicians, nurses, AHPs, administrators, and managers within the Health Board and the wider NHS community.
