Job summary

Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the Cornwall IT Services (CITS) programme, delivering digital initiatives aligned to the Digital Strategy and improving patient care across Cornwall. You will oversee projects up to £2 million and integrate work within national programmes, directing a 5–35 person team of clinicians, support staff, contractors and IT experts.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT/Systems development and change projects across the Trust, ensuring key dates and standards are met.
• Provide project management leadership for multi-disciplinary teams, including clinicians, nursing, support staff, volunteers, suppliers, IT experts and contractors.
• Engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, securing involvement and commitment to the project.
• Mentor junior/temporary Project Managers and Project Support Officers, and advise 3rd party project managers on delivery standards and methodology.
• Report to the Digital Programme Manager and manage specific projects and budgets as delegated.

We are looking for a Senior Project manager to join the Cornwall IT Services (CITS) programme team. Working with colleagues across the Trust and the wider system in Cornwall you will be responsible for leading Digital initiatives that support the Digital strategy, delivering change and innovation to support the delivery of care to our patients.
Successful management and delivery of projects within the Cornwall Health Community, each up to the value of £2 million
Successful management and integration of projects that may form part of national programmes of work
Management, co‑ordination and motivation of a multi‑disciplinary project team of 5 – 35 staff, including clinicians, nursing staff, support staff, voluntary workers, suppliers, IT experts, and contractors
The Senior Project Manager supports the Digital Programme Manager in delivery of Trust’s Digital Strategy Programme
Provides project management and leadership for IT/Systems development / change projects across the Trust, ensuring that key target dates and standards are met
Reports to the Digital Programme Manager and will have responsibility for specific projects and project budgets as delegated by the Digital Programme Manager
Shares best practice and acts as mentor to junior/temporary Project Managers /Project Support Officers and also provides advice to 3rd party project managers, engaged in Trust project work, as to the project delivery standards and methodology used within the Trust.
Engages effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both within and outside of the Trust, securing involvement in and commitment to the project.
