The role will focus predominantly on NHS and wider healthcare capital projects, including new-build, refurbishment, backlog maintenance and improvement programmes.

You will take responsibility for projects across the full lifecycle, working closely with clients, clinical and estates teams, consultants and contractors to ensure schemes are delivered successfully.

This would suit a confident, client-facing Senior PM who has experience working within complex healthcare environments and is comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams and managing senior stakeholders.

The Role

You will lead healthcare projects from initial feasibility and design through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.

Typical responsibilities will include:
  • Leading healthcare construction and refurbishment projects from inception through to completion.
  • Acting as the key client contact throughout project delivery.
  • Managing multidisciplinary consultant and contractor teams.
  • Managing programme, budget, quality, risk and project governance.
  • Administering NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, including early warnings, compensation events and change control.
  • Chairing project and stakeholder meetings.
  • Supporting procurement, tendering and contractor appointments.
  • Managing complex clinical, estates and operational stakeholders.
  • Identifying project risks and implementing appropriate mitigation.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the Project Management team.
About You
You will ideally have:
  • Experience working as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager within a construction consultancy, client-side organisation or public-sector environment.
  • A strong track record of delivering healthcare projects.
  • Experience of NHS, hospital, clinical or wider healthcare environments would be particularly advantageous.
  • Good working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.
  • Experience managing project programmes, budgets, risk and change.
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams.
  • RICS, CIOB, APM or equivalent professional membership would be advantageous but is not essential.
