Wood is recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to drive the performance, delivery and ensure best practise standards across a complex critical project as part of a portfolio for a high profile client with in our Systems Intergration business.

Due to the location of the project in the Northeast of Scotland our preference is for the position to be based on a hybrid basis out of our Aberdeen office, with the ability to travel to site as required.

Please note applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.

The Role

As the Senior Project Manager (SPM) you will be responsible for driving delivery excellence across critical projects for high profile clients within the SI EMEA business, providing certainty and confidence to the customer, and robust control of project scope, schedule, cost and risk. Key to this will be full responsibility for delivery of the project to agreed specifications, for managing change and customer relationships, and ensuring appropriate reporting and governance is adhered to and controlled.

As an experienced Project Leader you will manage a multi-discipline project team; responsible for resource allocation, development, recruitment and retention.

In addition you will have the opportunity to support the PMO Leadership team in the delivery of the PMO strategy for the Project portfolio.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Project Management professional who is delivery and customer focused, with exceptional stakeholder management skills, proven commercial acumen with specific working knowledge of delivering against NEC4 contracts, who is driven by working in a fast-paced environment with the anticipated levels of high-performance associated with a job profile of this nature.

Expected:

  • University degree in Engineering or relatable project management discipline
  • Extensive previous experience in a Project management role within heavy industry
  • Previous experience working on EPC / EPCm roles within Infrastructure, O&G, Nuclear or Power and utilities
  • Must have high level of commercial acumen with specific experience in managing NEC 4 contract delivery
  • Proven track record of effectively managing complex projects for high profile clients
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of stakeholder and requirements management
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and influence at all levels of the business both internally and externally
  • Safety focused with an uncompromising approach to risk management. Places the welfare of both internal and customer employees at the top of the agenda
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Associate in Project Management (APM) or equivalent certification is preferred
