Job summary

Hitachi Rail GTS UK Limited is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead major, complex projects with a focus on delivering safety, on time, and within budget. This hybrid role requires regular travel to customer sites in Sheffield and Manchester and collaboration across engineering, finance, and commercial teams.

The successful candidate will provide governance, drive performance, and mentor project teams while engaging stakeholders to secure successful outcomes in a dynamic rail environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering complex, high-value projects.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and delivery governance.
• Strong stakeholder management and negotiation capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for project delivery against time, cost and quality objectives.
• Provide leadership and direction to project leadership teams.
• Ensure governance and control processes are followed across projects.
• Manage project risks, opportunities, change control, resource planning and stakeholder engagement.
• Support commercial performance across project portfolios, including revenue and cash flow.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Coach and develop junior project managers.
• Present project performance clearly to senior leaders.
