Overview

The Lockton Global Real Estate Due Diligence Practice provides pre and post funding due diligence advice to commercial real estate loan originators and servicers. Working on our client’s behalf we analyse the insurance aspects of commercial real estate financing transactions to ensure their interests are appropriately protected. We support our clients’ interests by advising on the appropriate insurance clauses to include in their loan facility agreements, providing advice and insight on technical insurance policy clauses, reporting on policy deficiencies, negotiating with the appropriate parties to amend the policy terms to meet our clients expectations and finally issuing a formal report on the insurance aspects of the financing. The purpose of this role is to support the growth of the Global Real Estate Due Diligence Practice and prospect pipeline.

Responsibilities
  • Provide pre and post funding due diligence advice on insurance aspects of commercial real estate financing transactions.
  • Advise on insurance clauses to include in loan facility agreements and report on policy deficiencies.
  • Analyse technical policy clauses and negotiate amendments with relevant parties to meet client expectations.
  • Prepare formal reports on the insurance aspects of financing for clients.
  • Support the growth of the Global Real Estate Due Diligence Practice and prospect pipeline.
Qualifications
  • Enthusiastic with an enquiring mind-set and ability to support a fast-paced and growing practice.
  • Strong technical knowledge of insurance (in transit and operational risks) is essential.
  • Ability to assimilate contractual language, risk/insurance issues and relay conclusions in a client-friendly, precise language.
  • Broad understanding of insurance coverage and practices.
  • Strong team ethic with willingness to learn from more experienced colleagues.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal/written communication and networking skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
