Job summary

HRC Recruitment seeks a Senior Project Engineering Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams delivering complex energy infrastructure projects in Glasgow, focusing on Electrical Grid, Substation, and Battery Energy Storage System developments across Medium and High Voltage networks.

You will manage delivery, interface with clients on technical matters, and drive performance while mentoring engineers and coordinating with stakeholders to meet budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
• Significant industry experience.
• Proven expertise in substation design and electrical infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of UK Grid Code, TSO/DNO requirements, and the UK power utilities landscape.
• Demonstrated experience in project execution and delivery ownership.
• Ability to confidently engage with clients on technical matters.
• Strong knowledge of Medium and High Voltage network design principles.
• Understanding of construction, procurement, and contract management.
• Experience with project controls, estimating, and proposal development.
• Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate engineering delivery across multiple projects of varying size and complexity.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and technical outputs.
• Act as the primary technical interface with clients, managing scope changes and project requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on engineering standards, design practices, and compliance.
• Oversee and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technicians.
• Support business development activities, including proposals and client engagement.
• Coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Drive project performance, quality, and timely delivery.
