Senior Project Engineer – Highway

The ideal candidate will contribute to a team delivering roadway, traffic, drainage, and safety designs for state agencies and municipalities. Responsibilities include preparing calculations, layouts, estimates, and specifications under the guidance of project managers. Lead and mentor junior and staff engineers and CADD teammates.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will:

• Lead an integrated, multi-discipline team to solve various technical project challenges
• Understand project budgets, scope of services, schedules, and development phases
• Contribute to the development of technical and cost proposals
• Monitor project hours, costs, and timelines, providing recommendations to stay on track
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with client peers
• Manage engineering staff and prioritize tasks to adapt to schedule or resource changes
• Excel in technical writing, editing, and presentations
• Identify improvement opportunities and share best practices
• Develop person-hour estimates and budgets
• Serve as a technical lead with specialized skills
• Potentially oversee quality control of projects
• Pursue specialization in engineering or project management for career growth

Requirements:

• BS in Civil Engineering (BSCE); MS in Civil Engineering (MSCE preferred)
• 10+ years of relevant experience
• Current PE license in NH, MA, ME, or VT
• Experience with multiple engineering software programs
