Role Overview

The Lead role requires at least 3 years of experience leading a team of engineers and delivering at least 5 projects in the UK of 50MW or larger, including BESS projects.

Role Summary

This is a key role within the UK EPC engineering design hub, supporting colleagues both domestically and internationally.

You will take on a Project Engineering role, focusing on the effective design of large-scale ground-mounted solar projects, BESS, and other technologies, working closely with the engineering team.

Main Responsibilities

1. Develop BESS designs for tenders and construction (UK and international)
2. Develop Solar PV designs for tenders and construction (UK and international)
3. Provide systems design input into strategic bids, proposals, developments, and planning applications
4. Coordinate with internal resources
5. Participate in monthly project meetings
6. Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities
7. Support project engineering efforts, including site visits as required
8. Collaborate closely with the Design Manager/Lead Project Engineer and the Tendering Team
9. Support wider business activities by working with other UK design teams

Person Specification

1. Graduate with a Master’s degree in engineering, ideally in Renewables
2. Team player with passion for the energy sector
3. Professional engineering background in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or Power Systems Engineering (or similar)
4. Knowledge of relevant software tools such as PV Case, AutoCAD, PV Syst, PV Sol, etc.
5. Keen to learn relevant design and building standards and protocols
6. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
7. Ability to attend the UK office regularly and travel as required, with effectiveness in remote work
