Are you a self-motivated mechanical engineer interested in developing innovative mechanical equipment involving novel concepts, materials, and challenging requirements?

The ISIS Neutron and Muon Source Design Division has an immediate requirement for multiple experienced Senior Project Engineers with project management and leadership experience to deliver bespoke research equipment. Design, analysis, and development of accelerator, target, and instrument systems are key elements in supporting the user community conducting scientific studies at the ISIS facility.

Person Specification

The following will be reviewed at Shortlisting (S) and/or Interview (I):

  • A degree in an engineering-based subject or an engineering apprenticeship plus HNC, OR a project management qualification and experience in delivering complex engineering projects (S & I).
  • Experience in leading the engineering of complex and bespoke mechanical equipment throughout the complete lifecycle, from concept to commissioning (S & I).
  • Exposure to project management of large-scale engineering projects, responsible for time, cost, and quality (S & I).
  • A good understanding of Industrial Standards and Regulations, including risk assessments and risk mitigation (S & I).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary project teams (S & I).
