Job summary

Extension Recruitment is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for a global engineering business with Blyth and Newcastle sites. You will join the projects team, travel between Blyth and Newcastle, and drive complex engineering initiatives from planning through delivery.

The role emphasizes proactive problem-solving, delivery excellence and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams; travel may be required nationally and internationally.

Qualifications

• A HNC qualification or above.
• Experience supporting the delivery of complex engineering projects.
• Strong planning, organisational and project coordination skills.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 or APM.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver projects safely, on time, within budget and to specification.
• Support planning activities and coordinate procurement and subcontractors.
• Maintain project documentation and monitor risks.
• Assist with project reporting throughout the lifecycle.
• Role may involve national and international travel.

Senior Project Engineer

Location: Blyth, Northumberland and Newcastle upon Tyne

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

Our client is a global engineering business with multiple sites in the North East. They are seeking an ambitious Senior Project Engineer to join their growing projects team on a full time, permanent basis, travelling between their Blyth and Newcastle sites. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Senior Project Engineer who enjoys working on complex engineering projects from initial planning through to delivery.

The Role

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to specification. The Senior Project Engineer will support planning activities, coordinate procurement and subcontractors, maintain project documentation, monitor risks, and assist with reporting throughout the project lifecycle. The role may also involve national and international travel.
