Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd in Central London is seeking an Associate Director-level Project Manager to lead a major central London development valued at around £500 million, joining during the early design and mobilisation phase to provide strategic leadership.

You will head a PM team of about five, oversee governance, procurement, risk, and reporting, and work closely with the Client Director to deliver milestones with senior client stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Significant experience at Associate Director or equivalent level.
• Experience delivering projects valued at £100m–£150m in central London.
• Experience working with major developers, investors, or client-side organisations.
• Strong knowledge of commercial, mixed-use or complex London developments.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams through early design and mobilisation.
• Excellent governance, procurement, programme management and risk understanding.
• Ability to lead and motivate an established PM team with a one-team ethos.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to advise senior stakeholders.
• Experience in transparent procurement environments.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic project leadership across a large-scale development.
• Lead and develop the project management team (approx. five PMs).
• Assist with appointment and mobilisation of design and consultant teams.
• Establish governance, reporting and decision-making processes.
• Oversee programme risk, procurement, commercial performance and stakeholder management.
• Act as senior client contact and coordinate with the wider project team.
• Challenge consultants and contractors to protect the programme outcomes.
• Maintain clear, transparent reporting and control procurement expenditure.
