Job summary

VolkerStevin, part of VolkerWessels UK, seeks an ambitious Project Director to oversee major energy infrastructure projects across the UK. You will lead delivery across National Grid, HVDC and substations, steering large multidisciplinary teams and managing safety, schedule, and cost performance.

You will build senior client relationships, drive programme certainty, and shape high-performing project cultures within a leading civil engineering group committed to energy transition and grid

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng), MCIOB, ChPP or equivalent professional accreditation.
• Significant experience delivering major infrastructure projects, including leadership in the energy sector.
• Experience delivering National Grid transmission, HVDC, converter stations, major cables or high-voltage substations.
• Proven accountability for safety, programme delivery, commercial performance, quality and P&L.

Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of major energy infrastructure projects.
• Build trusted relationships with senior clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners.
• Direct large multidisciplinary teams across project management, engineering, commercial and construction.
• Ensure programme certainty, safe delivery and commercial success throughout project lifecycles.
