Job summary

VanRath is seeking an experienced Project Director for a prestigious Main Contractor delivering high-value schemes across London, Scotland, and the Midlands.

You will provide strategic leadership for multiple projects, overseeing design coordination, procurement, and site delivery while interfacing with clients, officials, and internal teams. A construction-related degree is preferred, with strong H&S knowledge and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering £20M+ projects in main contracting.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Commercial awareness with design coordination, procurement and surveying.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Construction-related degree or HND desirable.
• In-depth Health & Safety and regulatory knowledge.
• Proficient in MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to multiple projects across sites, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
• Act as the primary interface for clients, government officials, and project teams.
• Oversee design coordination, site surveys, and feasibility assessments.
• Manage sub-contractors and direct labour to optimise productivity and profitability.
• Monitor project progress, produce detailed reports, and implement remedial actions when necessary.
• Coach and develop staff to promote continuous improvement and skill advancement.
