Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Senior Project Controller to lead project controls across cost, schedule, risk and performance for complex energy projects. You will advise Project Directors and leadership teams, implementing robust controls and ensuring governance, reporting and continuous improvement across the project lifecycle.

You will collaborate with project teams, customers, and functional stakeholders to drive best practices, deliver insights and support successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

Proven experience in project controls for large-scale oil & gas or energy projects.
Strong understanding of planning and scheduling, cost management, risk management, forecasting, performance analysis, and change management.
Experience implementing and assuring project controls governance, processes, and best practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills with ability to influence decisions and communicate at all levels.
Proficiency with project controls tools such as MSP, Primavera P6, Unifier, ERP systems, ARM, or similar software.

Responsibilities

Developing and maintaining the Project Control Plan with alignment to project objectives and governance.
Starting up projects and monitoring progress to ensure controls processes, systems and reporting are established.
Acting as main contact for Project Directors, project teams and customers on cost, risk, performance and reporting.
Integrating schedule, cost, risk, forecasting and scope change management for a comprehensive performance view.
Leading deployment and ongoing management of project controls systems, tools, interfaces and reporting methodologies.
Providing project performance analysis, identifying trends, risks and variances and supporting corrective actions.
Supporting project reviews, governance forums and customer meetings with project controls insights and reporting.
Engaging with internal/external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in the controls function.

As a Senior Project Controller, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the successful delivery of complex projects and programs. Acting as a trusted advisor to Project Directors and project leadership teams, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust project controls processes across cost, schedule, risk, change, and performance management disciplines.

You will build strong, collaborative relationships with project teams, customers, and functional stakeholders while contributing to the continuous improvement and maturity of the project control’s function. Senior Project Controller , you will be responsible for:

Developing and maintaining the Project Control Plan, ensuring alignment with project objectives, governance requirements, and execution strategies.
Driving project start-up activities and monitoring progress to ensure project controls processes, systems, and reporting frameworks are established effectively.
Serving as the primary point of contact for Project Directors, project teams, and customers on project cost, risk, performance, and reporting matters.
Integrating schedule, cost, risk, forecasting, and scope change management processes to provide a comprehensive view of project performance.
Leading the implementation and ongoing management of project controls systems, tools, interfaces, and reporting methodologies.

To be successful in this role, you will:

Have proven experience in project controls across large-scale projects or programs within the oil and gas, energy, engineering, or industrial sectors.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of planning and scheduling, cost management, risk management, forecasting, performance analysis, and change management.
Have experience implementing and assuring project controls governance, processes, and best practices.
Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions and communicate effectively at all levels.
Have proficiency with project controls tools such as Microsoft Project (MSP), Oracle Primavera P6, Unifier, ERP systems, Active Risk Manager (ARM), or similar software.
Be highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
