Role Description

NRL are recruiting for a Project Controls Specialist to join a leading organisation in the power transmission and distribution sector, supporting high-voltage substation projects across the UK.

This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in Primavera P6, project controls, and a solid understanding ofHV construction sequencing and National Grid standards (TP 193).

Key Role Highlights:

  • Industry: Power Transmission & Distribution
  • Location: Glasgow based with national travel (approx. 40–50%)
  • Focus: Scheduling, Earned Value Management, Risk and Budget Controls
  • Tools: Primavera P6, MSP
  • Experience: 7+ years as a Planner, 5+ years in HV sector

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules for HV substation projects
  • Coordinate with design and delivery teams to build robust tender and construction programmes
  • Conduct schedule analysis, risk assessments, and change impact evaluations
  • Support project reporting, dashboard updates, and client/stakeholder communication
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and CDM regulations

Minimum Requirements:

  • Primavera P6 experience or certification
  • Full UK driving licence & CSCS card
  • Strong experience delivering National Grid-aligned projects
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently
