Job summary

CMR is seeking a Senior Project Controls Manager to support our expansion across the UK. The role combines remote work (3 days) with a London site office (2 days) and a full-time commitment.

Immediate start available for a motivated, dynamic professional with expert project controls capabilities. You will lead the project controls for major projects, drive data-driven decisions, and ensure PMO governance across the project lifecycle, while developing the team and advancing our digital approach

Qualifications

  • Experience as Programme Controls Manager for large, complex construction projects.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience facilitating workshops with multiple stakeholders to identify issues.
  • Experience managing risk, planning, cost change control, document control and reporting.
  • Experience leading teams of highly skilled specialists.
  • Experience with project controls systems and PMO governance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and set up the project controls capability for a major project or programme.
  • Provide interpretation of the data in the monthly reporting to support prompt decision making by the SLT.
  • Establish and manage the PMB and supervise KPI & progress data for monthly reporting.
  • Implement effective project governance, processes and systems throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate the project controls function through the supply chain.
  • Integrate schedule, cost, risk, quality and reporting disciplines.
  • Ensure adherence to PMO policies, processes and standards.

You’ll
  • Lead, manage and set up the project controls capability for a major project or programme – people, procedures, systems
  • Provide interpretation of the data in the monthly reporting to support prompt decision making by the SLT
  • Establish and manage the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) and supervise the Project Control deliverable to collate monthly KPI & progress data related to time, cost, risk, and quality for the purposes of monthly business reporting
  • Implement effective project governance, processes and systems throughout the project lifecycle
  • Manage and co-ordinate the project controls function through the supply chain
  • Be responsible for integrating the disciplines including schedule, cost, risk, quality and reporting.
  • Assurance of data and ensuring adherence to PMO policies, processes and standards
About You

Essential

  • Professional experience undertaking Programme Controls Manager roles for the development and/or delivery of large, complex construction projects
  • Ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships at all levels
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to facilitate workshops with multiple stakeholders in order to identify and mitigate issues.
  • Experience managing and integrating risk, planning, cost change control, document control and reporting teams, having worked in at least one of these disciplines.
  • Experience in managing teams of highly skilled specialists
  • Experience of managing project controls systems

Desirable

  • A formal professional Project Management qualification
