Urenco UTD Design Authority is seeking a Senior Project Assurance Specialist.

Based at our Almelo site in The Netherlands, this role is part of the Design Authority team. You will play a key role within a growth-oriented and well-established team, enhancing Urenco’s project delivery capabilities across a global footprint that includes four operational sites and various business activities. Embedded within the Design Authority, the Senior Project Assurance Specialist ensures excellence in the delivery of capital projects.

The purpose of this role is to serve as an independent assessor of capital project performance, ensuring that appropriate controls are in place and are functioning according to Urenco’s capital delivery processes.

We are seeking applicants with a strong background in a highly technical role such as engineering management, project management, or project engineering, with experience in complex project environments.

What you’ll do:

1. Provide subject matter expertise and advice across Urenco Group’s global project portfolio.
2. Advise on and contribute to the evolution of the Group’s Project Delivery Strategy, aligning with the Group’s objectives across its capex portfolio.
3. Evaluate project management methodologies and practices to ensure industry best practices are incorporated at all project phases.
4. Assess project team performance and project controls, reporting on corrective actions to stakeholders.
5. Foster strong relationships with project owners across the business.
6. Ensure the robustness of Urenco’s commercial position through best practices in contracting, supplier selection, procurement, and contract management.
7. Leverage industry experience to identify and exploit best practices for value creation and protection.
8. Promote knowledge retention and continuous improvement through lessons learned reviews.

What you need to thrive in this role:

1. Knowledge of the full project lifecycle from initiation to closure.
2. Proven experience in technical delivery roles such as project or engineering management.
3. Experience in promoting a proactive safety culture.
4. Understanding of how different engineering disciplines collaborate and communicate.
5. Ability to analyze scopes and translate them into structured work packages and deliverables.
6. Sufficient qualifications.
7. At least 5 years of accountable experience in managing EPC projects or similar roles.
8. Experience in leading complex, multi-contract, multi-discipline projects across the entire lifecycle.
9. Ability to develop strategies that meet safety, budget, and business objectives.
10. Successful project delivery experience across multiple industries, including regulated sectors.
