At Leonardo, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Assurance Engineer within our Airborne Radar Quality Assurance Team in Edinburgh. This role involves working with Operations, Project Managers, Customers, Design/Development teams, and Purchasing/Suppliers to meet Customer requirements related to Leonardo UK's Products and Services. Key Responsibility Areas:
- Be an integral member of both the Airborne Radar Quality team and the Integrated Project Teams (IPT), contributing to all aspects of Quality to ensure project success.
- Deliver assurance activities defined by the IPT, maintaining relevance with changing project demands.
- Engage with Operational and IPT risks and opportunities, supporting and leading where appropriate to drive progress.
- Agree on risk-based internal assessments with the IPT lead and ensure their completion, managing findings to closure.
- Analyze and communicate information to support escalation and decision-making within the IPT.
- Lead instances of Non-Conformance and Failure on behalf of the IPT, ensuring issues are managed to closure internally and with external supply chain.
- Support and mentor junior Assurance Team members.
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required:
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or experience in Defence, Electronics, or similar complex industries.
- Knowledge of Governance, AS9100 / ISO9001, and Continuous Improvement.
- Experience with Development and Design Assurance support across lifecycle stages.
- Proficiency in Quality Tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action, Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification, Validation, and First Article Inspection.
- Logical thinking skills, capable of transforming complex data into practical actions supporting business goals.
- Good interpersonal skills and collaborative working style.
- Effective time management, prioritization, and escalation skills.
- Experience working with Customers and Suppliers.
