Job Description

Join a sociable friendly studio that blends thoughtful design with precise technical delivery across commercial, residential and public sector schemes. A surge of Higher Risk Building commissions means the practice needs an experienced project architect who can lead with confidence and keep every stakeholder aligned.

Responsibilities

  • Guide stages 3-5 on mixed-use and residential HRB projects, running design workshops, clash-free coordination sessions and on-site reviews
  • Manage and mentor a focused team of Part II and newly qualified architects, setting clear goals and offering constructive feedback
  • Build fully coordinated ArchiCAD models, write robust specifications and issue tender packs that meet Passivhaus performance targets
  • Liaise daily with consultants, contractors and approval bodies, translating complex regulations into clear actions that protect programme and budget
  • Track project documentation and forecasts, reporting directly to the Technical Director while flagging risk early
  • Going On-site

Skills & Experience

  • ARB or CIAT registered with proven UK delivery of HRB projects on site
  • Advanced ArchiCAD, confident Revit skills for clear communication and detailing
  • Track record of coordinating full construction information, managing design liability and leading technical sign-offs
  • Strong communicator who can negotiate solutions and motivate multidisciplinary teams
  • Working knowledge of the Building Safety Act, BR 135 guidance and current fire-safety legislation
