Job summary

Hitachi Rail GTS UK Limited, based in London, seeks a Senior Project Accountant to lead financial control and reporting for large-scale contracts. You will partner with Project Managers and senior stakeholders, delivering insights and robust forecasting in a hybrid working setup.

The role offers ownership of key financial processes and potential line management opportunities, with a strong emphasis on leadership and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification required (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent).
• Significant project accounting experience in large, complex contracts.
• Strong IFRS 15 knowledge.
• Experience partnering with Project Managers and senior stakeholders.
• Excellent financial planning and forecasting capabilities.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
• People management experience or interest in leadership.
• Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial leadership and support across large-scale, complex contracts.
• Own financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting and month-end activities for projects.
• Ensure IFRS 15 revenue recognition is applied correctly.
• Deliver management reporting and financial insights for decision-making.
• Challenge project assumptions to improve performance.
• Support contract reviews and governance meetings.
• Mentor junior finance colleagues and potentially manage people.
