Job summary

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is recruiting two Senior Programme Managers to lead the NNSS and NCR portfolios within the Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI) pillar. You will collaborate across UKRI, engage with government departments, PSREs, academia and industry to shape compute infrastructure strategy and governance, ensuring value for the research and innovation community.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience of programme, portfolio and/or project management in research-related or innovation activities.
• Awareness of technical concepts in large-scale computing technologies such as HPC and AI.
• Ability to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders at different levels and influence outcomes.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for strategy development and implementation.
• Sophisticated analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to understand, analyse and present data to inform senior leaders.
• Strong strategic awareness of how the UK research and innovation system operates.

Responsibilities

• Support development, delivery and operation of key investments in the UKRI national compute ecosystem including NNSS and NCRs.
• Develop and implement access and allocation policy for compute services to ensure fair distribution of resources.
• Maintain and develop project management processes for successful delivery with governance and evaluation.
• Build relationships with stakeholders across users, providers, internal teams and government departments.
• Provide high-quality expertise and advice informed by evidence and engagement with partners.
• Represent UKRI Infrastructure team in meetings with internal and external collaborators.
• Contribute to strategic projects across the Infrastructure team.
