Job description

The Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Planning Team handles the End-to-End planning for JP AMZL, including providing volume forecasts, flexible capacity solutions for in-station and on road operations all year-round, and enables the business to scale for seasonal peak demand and during sale events. We are looking for a talented Peak Manager, to lead peak planning, and partner with various teams to drive execution success during these sale events.

The ideal candidate is passionate leveraging data to provide actionable insights to improve from previous sale-events, is focused on delivering consistent results, and is experienced in driving execution in a cross-functional environment with multiple stakeholders. They thrive in a fast-paced environment and making high-velocity decisions, working with senior stakeholders across teams and geo’s, relish working with large transactional volumes, and are able to navigate highly complex and frequently ambiguous business context.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Responsible for planning and co-ordination for major sale events, in partnership with S&OP, OTR and UTR Capacity Planning, and Channel teams. Be the single point of contact for JP AMZL peak related planning and execution.
  2. Partner with upstream teams to decide on peak strategy inputs, get leadership sign-off’s on debate topics, co-ordinate timelines across various stakeholders managing dependencies, publish plans timely across teams, and maintain a consistent and smooth information flow.
  3. Ensure sustained improvements in Peak planning processes by diving deep into root causes for deviations, incorporating learnings from previous events, driving completeness of learning actions.
  4. Drive reporting best practices, including parity with NA and EU for peak events, in partnership with LMEA and ORBIT teams.
  5. Lead leadership and operational reviews in preparation for sale-events, conduct daily reviews, driving actions and reporting across teams during the events.
  6. Co-ordinate and conduct whistle-stops across JP AMZL in partnership with operations and site leadership, to ensure preparedness ahead of major peak events.
  7. Maintain regular communication with EU and NA S&OP and planning teams to leverage experience; utilize existing tools and help to drive development of tool improvements.
  8. Promote process improvement and standardization across the network.
Minimum Requirements

- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, experience with processing and extracting insights from data
- Business level of English (verbal & written)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- 3+ years SQL, Python, Advanced Excel, and database
- Proven, successful track record of navigating through ambiguous situations
- Proven, successful track record of earning trust and influencing across the organization and leading others cross-functionally to deliver on projects and goals
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
- Business level of Japanese
