Job summary

MarketAxess Holdings Inc. is hiring a Production Support Engineer in London to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of production systems. You will design and maintain monitoring, automation, and tooling to support electronic trading platforms and client experiences.

The role requires strong Python, Linux/Bash, SQL, and XML skills, plus experience with high-speed trading systems. You will participate in on-site and follow-the-sun support with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in production engineering, production support, or a related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in building and customizing ITRS Geneos monitoring systems.
• Experience with Grafana is preferred.
• Proficiency with Jira and Salesforce Service Cloud.
• Experience with high-speed, high-volume transactional trading systems.
• Strong Python, Linux/Bash, SQL, and XML skills.
• Experience using FIX Protocol.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality.
• Build and enhance monitoring systems to provide visibility into system health and uptime.
• Provide technical expertise and support to production teams to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement across production engineering and support functions.
• Communicate plans and progress to stakeholders, including senior management.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and architecture diagrams.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Provide 2nd line support for Live and Test trading systems and follow-the-sun coverage.
