Role Overview

Liquidnet Europe Limited seeks a Senior Production Support Engineer for the EMEA Platform Services Team. The role requires a proactive individual with technical expertise in supporting buy-side members across Europe, utilizing FIX, Linux, Windows Server, DevOps, database, and networking skills.

This varied role involves supporting cross-platform market-leading technologies and managing all aspects of support for proprietary and third-party applications, focusing on Transaction & Regulatory Reporting. The candidate will identify automation opportunities, contribute to projects, support client migrations, and assist in migrating to cloud technologies. Responsibilities also include member support via phone/email, OMS integration, and trade lifecycle issues for the trading platform and desk.

The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and high customer service standards, with strong FIX, SQL/Sybase/Oracle database, Linux, cloud, Windows, and networking troubleshooting skills.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Participate in a 'follow the sun' support model, coordinating with global teams in APAC and US for pre-market health checks.
  2. Conduct regional start-of-day health checks to ensure member connectivity.
  3. Provide daily support and troubleshooting for platform users using proprietary tools, escalating issues as needed.
  4. Support back-office flows, especially around Regulatory and Transaction Reporting.
  5. Engage with internal stakeholders regarding support issues.
  6. Track issues in incident management systems to identify trends.
  7. Create and monitor internal reports and queries.
  8. Assist in product testing and project implementation.
  9. Suggest and escalate platform improvements.

Experience / Competences

Essential

  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on support experience in a financial institution.
  • Experience with Site Reliability Engineering practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proficiency with MSSQL, Oracle, and Sybase databases.
  • Support experience in Unix/Linux environments.
  • Strong knowledge of the FIX protocol.
  • Experience supporting Windows Server and troubleshooting network issues.
  • Understanding of international Equity markets, especially back-office flows.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • Scripting experience with PERL, Python, or similar.

Non-Essential

  • Experience with message-based architecture.
  • Knowledge of Order Management Systems.
  • AWS Certification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like ITRS.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes management.
  • Knowledge of European financial regulations like MiFID II.
