Job description

Job Title: Senior Production Planning & Control Professional – Function

Location: Barrow-in-Furness (3 days per week onsite). We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £42,215+ depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop, implement, and improve PP&C processes across multiple facilities

  • Produce training materials, user guides, and process documentation

  • Deliver training sessions, audits, and capability assessments

  • Generate performance and capability reports for decision-making

  • Collaborate with facility managers and cross-functional teams to ensure process consistency

  • Identify improvements, share best practice, and resolve process issues

  • Support capability development and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Align PP&C activities with programme build strategies and governance requirements

Your skills and experiences:

  • Knowledge of PP&C policies, processes, and systems

  • Experience in manufacturing or engineering environments

  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement, problem-solving, and data analysis

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Project, Visio, and SAP S/4HANA

  • Ability to deliver training, conduct audits, and manage KPIs

  • Understanding of governance frameworks and best practice sharing

  • Ability to work cross-functionally to ensure compliance and performance

The Production Planning & Control team:

The Production Planning & Control (PP&C) team is responsible for developing, reviewing, and improving processes, documentation, and training to support successful project delivery. This role contributes to audits, process reviews, and updates, while ensuring team members have the capability and resources to perform effectively. On smaller projects, the position leads PP&C activities; on larger ones, it works in partnership with the PP&C Manager. The role also involves coaching colleagues, monitoring performance, and helping to evolve PP&C practices for a variety of project needs. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
