Job summary

Chess Dynamics is seeking a Senior Production Planner to coordinate end-to-end planning, ensuring materials arrive on time and production jobs flow to meet delivery dates. You will liaise with supply chain and engineering to resolve build issues and maintain documentation.

The role requires strong experience with ERP/MRP (Epicor Kinetic) and APS, capacity planning, and data integrity. A background in electronics manufacturing and cross-functional collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in production planning or control in complex manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, ideally Epicor Kinetic with APS.
• Ability to develop/manage schedules to match material availability and delivery demand.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing environments.
• Ability to analyse data to identify constraints and drive planning decisions.
• Strong focus on capacity planning, resource loading and bottleneck management.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end production planning using MRP to create and maintain build schedules.
• Release jobs and documentation for kitting in line with the schedule.
• Monitor plant loading and capacity, adjusting plans to optimise labour and resources.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure material availability and meet targets.
• Expedite materials and production orders to mitigate delays and protect delivery commitments.
• Maintain MRP data integrity across BOMs, routing times, lead times, and steps.
• Analyse MRP recommendations to identify shortages and prevent bottlenecks.
• Drive continuous improvement using MES and data to reduce waste and improve flow.
• Oversee job costing performance, tracking actuals vs standard costs.
• Own delivery performance against on-time targets and manage recovery actions.
• Monitor and report KPIs including OTD, capacity utilisation and schedule adherence.
