Qualifications

• Time-served machinist, toolmaker, or holder of a recognised mechanical engineering qualification with extensive hands-on experience in manual and CNC manufacturing environments.
• 5+ years in a supervisory or management role (e.g., Machine Shop Manager, Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Operations Lead).
• Strong practical understanding of CNC programming and manual machining practices.
• Working comprehension of tool design, jig and fixture manufacturing, precision grinding, and custom die assemblies.
• Digital proficiency with ERP/MRP platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Analytical mindset with ability to manage deadlines and drive Lean, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma initiatives.
• Outstanding communication skills for leading shop floor teams and engaging with clients.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Production Planning & Capacity Management: Develop master production schedules to optimise machine uptime and meet delivery dates.
• Machine Shop Oversight: Direct management of CNC, manual, and toolmaking cells; ensure TPM and maintenance.
• Job Allocation & Dynamic Workflow: Assign work based on skills, lead times, and machine tolerances; monitor progress.
• Team Leadership & Training: Mentor apprentices and operators; set KPIs and develop training programs.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Enforce ISO 9001 standards and OH&S, drive RCCA investigations.
