Our client is a well established manufacturing company based in South Down who are currently on the market for an experienced Senior Production Manager. This is a unique opportunity for a well rounded Production Manager with previous experience at senior level. The successful applicant will sit on the Senior Management team.

You will manage the production facility ensuring the optimisation of throughput and efficiency, while minimising waste and ensuring customer expectations are met on time and in full. You will also oversee the dispatch, procurement and engineering functions.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a production strategy, reviewing long term forecasts ensuring that production capacity and resources are in place and in line with business demands.
• Management of production staff, including training, appraisal, grievance, and disciplinary activity and instil a proactive, team oriented culture
• Set clear objectives for the production team with respect to volume, cost, quality and meeting schedules and delivery dates.
• Oversee Supply Chain to optimise production schedule and work force planning to achieve labour costs targets.
• Preparation and control of production budgets and KPIs
• Ensure continuous improvement of quality control standards and good manufacturing practices
• Ensure adherance to Health & Safety requirements

Criteria:

• Previous experience as a Production Manager within a heavy manufacturing environment
• Willingness to be hands on
• Proficient in MS Office
• Good organisation, problem solving, and analytical skills
• Experience of implementing lean / continuous improvement systems would be highly advantageous

Salary is in the region of £70k depending upon experience.
