The Opportunity:

Explore Manufacturing is looking for an experienced Production Leader to lead a competent and motivated workforce, working safely at all times, manufacturing quality products right first time, in line with client requirements.

The role involves delivering consistently to plan, in a timely and cost-effective manner, while operating responsibly and sustainably. The Production Leader will oversee a team of three shift-focused Production Team Leaders and a team of fifty employees.

What will the role look like?
  • Assuring a Safety-First culture
  • Maintaining a fully trained, competent, managed, and motivated workforce with clearly documented training plans
  • Understanding and controlling risks to employees, contractors, and visitors, with adequate controls in place
  • Working according to Next Gear principles, ensuring all activities are supported by risk assessments and safe working practices, with documentation maintained and stored centrally (EIP)
  • Ensuring operational equipment is fit for purpose and regularly inspected
  • Maintaining high standards in operational areas and environments
  • Manufacturing quality products consistently, adhering to the company's QMS
  • Delivering production as per the plan, developed in collaboration with the planning team
  • Using business forecasts and look-ahead plans to anticipate resource, material, and space requirements
  • Investigating departmental occurrences related to HSE and Quality to prevent negative impacts
  • Managing departmental costs within budgets
What skills & experience are we looking for?
  • An experienced leader with a manufacturing or operational background, ideally with experience in concrete products, building materials, or construction management
  • Relevant industry or professional experience in the precast concrete or building materials industry
  • An appropriate Safety Management qualification
  • A history of self-improvement through training schemes or external courses
  • Self-motivated, proactive team player capable of managing a busy production team
